Since the results of Benchmark #1 have been provided (see Benchmark #1), there is no need to upload them.

The physical tests corresponding to Benchmark #2 will be run at the start of the workshop. To facilitate comparison, we are developing a program that will compare numerical model results with the physical measurements.

Please prepare your results in the following format and submit them no later than July 6 (submission site now open):

Four ASCII text files will be needed.

Note that the time vector in these four different files (1 FSE and 3 VT files) does not need to be identical. However, the time datum (t=0) must correspond to the same instant in time across all the time series.

Required File Formats
1. Free Surface Elevation (FSE) Measurements: Provide a single 10-column ASCII text file
Name this file FSE_BM2_lastname.txt
Column 1:  Time (seconds)
Column 2:  FSE (m) @ x=7.5m, y=0m
Column 3:  FSE (m) @ x=13.0m, y=0m
Column 4:  FSE (m) @ x=21.0m, y=0m
Column 5:  FSE (m) @ x=7.5m, y=5.0m
Column 6:  FSE (m) @ x=13.0m, y=5.0m
Column 7:  FSE (m) @ x=21.0m, y=5.0m

Each FSE column should correspond to the time given in the first column, such that one could:
  • plot(column 1, column 2)
  • plot(column 1, column 3)
  • etc.
The duration of the time series should be at least 45 seconds from the initiation of wave generation. The time step of this data does not need to be constant.
2. Velocity and Turbulence (VT) Measurements: These data should be provided in 3 individual files.
